The ABC Ignite 2024 Innovations Report 

This year, ABC Fitness celebrated 40 years of providing industry-leading fitness solutions to our customers and their members. This is a major milestone for our business, showing that our platform has been a frontrunner of innovation in the global movement of modern fitness. Our platform ABC Ignite has been a central part of this achievement and, even after 40 years, we are still providing our customers with the forefront of fitness management software.

Engagement Innovations 

This year for our engagement capabilities, the ABC Ignite team has focused on creating a holistic sales and member experience for leads and customers. Now, with the refer a friend feature, lead capture and trial passes and a range of other new capabilities, the ABC Ignite sales and retention experience has become even more self-serve for clients, leads and members as a whole.  

1. Refer a Friend  

This has been a highly popular feature update for our members. This feature gives members the ability to refer friends and family in the app while also benefiting from perks and credit for those leads. This provided a major advantage to our customers by creating verified leads with clear referrals that are highly likely to sign up for trials, classes, and eventually memberships. 

2. In-App Lead Capture & Trial Pass  

Now, prospects can instantly sign up in-app and gain access to your club, removing the barrier for prospects to try your gym without the perception of sales pressure. This significantly reduces manual tasks for club staff, saving you and your team hours of work. This feature also pairs seamlessly with our refer-a-friend feature to help convert your trial leads into engaged, long-term members.

3. Dynamic QR Barcode & Apple Wallet Configuration  

Allow members to check in faster while providing additional security for our clients and members in their locations. The Dynamic QR Barcode updates the member’s barcode every minute and has an embedded timestamp, providing a time-sensitive security feature to boost safety within business locations. Additionally, we added a club configuration to turn off members from saving the Barcode to their Apple Wallet, stopping members from sharing barcodes across non-members. 

4. Freeze Membership  

We’ve made it easy for members to adjust their membership if they are unable to use the club due to life events such as a hospital stay, military deployment, temporary relocation, or other unforeseen circumstance. In addition, this new feature can help to free up club staff from spending time on freezes in the club or on the phone.  

 5. Mobile Extension Software Development Kit (SDK)  

Allow any partner or vendor you work with to build their own mobile experience inside the IGNITE Engagement mobile application. Our first integration was with Perkville, an ABC preferred partner, to allow members to seamlessly engage with the club’s Perkville hosted referral and loyalty program.

Membership & Operations Innovations 

1. ABC Ignite Stability Initiative 

You can benefit from rock solid reliability when it comes to The ABC Ignite platform, with smarter error handling and better system checks to make your day a breeze. Our team has significantly improved fraud prevention against bot attacks by 87%. Additionally, we have optimized API Join response times from 11 seconds to 2.7, significantly improving the user experience for you and your members. We’ve also decreased duplicate online joins by 95%, again making the user and admin experience far more efficient.  

2. Expanded API Library 

The expanded API Library now supports clubs in creating custom inventory management systems. Enhanced Rewrite, Cancellation, and Freeze APIs boost app functionality, while also enabling seamless prospect conversion.

Commerce Innovations 

1. Commerce Billing Platform Core Improvements 

Our cloud-based billing platform ensures secure, reliable transactions while growing with your business. With smart payment retries, easy customer notifications, and powerful analytics, we make billing simple, efficient, and effective. 

2. Reattempt Late/Service Fees with ACH Payments   

ACH payment retries are secure, compliant with banking rules, and protect you from risks. Flexible options let you customize retries to fit your needs, ensuring every transaction is safe and reliable. 

3. Point-of-Sale Improvements in Canada  

Interac transactions are now settled directly in the ABC Ignite platform, saving Canadian merchants money and simplifying payment processes by cutting out middlemen. A fully integrated payment solution and the TRIPOS Lane 7000 technology deliver faster, secure checkouts and a seamless, user-friendly POS experience. 

4. Fraud Prevention  

Fraud prevention tools actively track transactions, stopping suspicious activity by disabling terminals when needed. Adjustable rules, instant alerts, and clear status updates provide stronger security and simple monitoring without interrupting business. 

5. POS Innovations 2024:  

Pay Page: Cloudflare SecureFlow  

Our integration of Cloudflare for the Pay Page solution introduces an AI-based fraud detection system that combines security with a seamless user experience.  

Pay Page: Responsive and Customizable Design  
 
We have delivered a fully responsive design for the Pay Page, adaptable from the smallest mobile devices to the largest desktop displays. It also includes powerful customization features to meet the specific needs of each club.  

Transaction Recovery Tool  

The Transaction Recovery Tool is an innovative solution designed to enhance transaction continuity by allowing employees to easily identify and recover unsaved payment sessions. This tool minimizes transaction loss and operational delays by enabling real-time monitoring and reinitiation of incomplete payment processes. For customers, this translates to higher reliability and transparency in financial operations.

1. Insights Reporting Performance Improvements   

The transition to a new database architecture has significantly boosted reporting speed and overall performance. Users benefit from enhanced system reliability, improved data quality, and faster report access. Additionally, the platform now scales efficiently as more users onboard to Insights, ensuring a consistently smooth experience as we continue to grow. 

2. Custom General Ledger (GL) Code Management   

With the ability to apply custom GL codes directly to accounting line items within our Insights platform, users gain greater control and flexibility over their financial bookkeeping. The redesigned interface streamlines code identification and updates, making GL code management more intuitive. This enhancement ensures that reports can be easily downloaded from our system for seamless integration into bookkeeping processes, leading to more efficient workflows and reduced manual intervention.   

3. Enhanced Email Scheduling Capabilities   

Our advanced email scheduling ensures that data is always complete, accurate, and reliable upon delivery. Reports are automatically sent as soon as the data becomes available, providing timely and actionable insights. This streamlined process enables users to receive essential information directly in their inboxes, eliminating manual retrieval and boosting productivity.
